4-star OL Brett Neilon commits to USC

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

USC grabbed one of the top prospects at one of the most important positions Wednesday. Offensive lineman Brett Neilon has decided to commit to USC's 2017 class.

Neilon chose the Trojans over offers from Michigan, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, California, UCLA, and Utah.

"I am grateful to all the universities who extended an offer and recruited me this past year. I thank all the coaches and staff who spent time and who helped me understand their university. Each and every university and football program is unique and great in its own way," Neilon wrote on Twitter.

"To my coaches, trainers, teammates, family and friends who supported me through this journey - a HUGE thank you! The decision was difficult, but after careful consideration I have decided to make my commitment to the University of Southern California. Fight on."

The California native is ranked 14th for his position in the country and is the 19th best prospect in his home state.

He is the seventh player to commit to the Trojans 2017 class.
