Richt preaching the 'process' at Miami

Trust the "process," Mark Richt says.

No, not the same process made famous by the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, whose fans have suffered in misery for years, but a process nonetheless, as Richt attempts to rebuild Miami into a national powerhouse.

"The reality is that Miami's been in the ACC for 10 years and has never won the ACC," Richt said Sunday on SiriusXM Radio, according to Brad Crawford of 247 Sports. "Miami's been in the ACC 10 years and has never won the Coastal Division. Let's crawl a little while and then start walking, jogging, and sprinting in the end. We're trying to put in a process of doing things that will help us get there."

The Hurricanes are coming off a season filled with turbulence on and off the field, though they still managed to finish with a respectable 8-5 record.

Expectations and excitement, however, are on the rise with Richt installed as the new head coach and quarterback Brad Kaaya headed into his junior campaign.

Miami has a date with Florida A&M set for Sept. 3 to open the 2016 season.
