Florida State's Maguire, Cook ahead of schedule in rehabs from injury

Florida State quarterback Sean Maguire and running back Dalvin Cook are ahead of schedule in their respective rehabs from injury, head coach Jimbo Fisher said Thursday.

"He's been throwing on his own and doing really good," Fisher said of Maguire, who's coming back from a broken ankle suffered in the Peach Bowl. "He should be ready by middle of June and going full speed."

As for the star who lines up behind Maguire in the backfield, Fisher said his rehab from offseason shoulder surgery is going well, too.

"When June comes, he'll be running full speed with our players, and when August comes he'll be in full contact," he said, referring to Cook.

The Seminoles are scheduled to open the 2016 campaign in a blockbuster meeting with Ole Miss, but their two sidelined stars are expected to be fully healthy long before September.
