Harbaugh has 26 June satellite camps planned

June may be considered the offseason for college football, but Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh doesn't see it that way.

The colorful coach spent most of the spring football season fighting for the reinstatement of satellite camps around the country. That battle eventually proved successful, as the NCAA reversed their ban, and Harbaugh is taking the decision and running with it.

The 54-year-old has 26 camps planned for June throughout various parts of the country, including eight days with multiple camps, and the intense commitment to recruiting is no surprise to South Florida coach Willie Taggart.

"When I knew he was going back to Michigan, I knew he was going to change the game," Taggart said to Mark Snyder from the Detroit Free Press, who is sharing a June 4 camp in Florida with Harbaugh. "He loves to recruit, he loves to go out and compete and he's a winner. He's a badass."

As expected, Harbaugh's globe-trotting recruitment plan didn't sit well with other coaches, particularly those in the southern states. Georgia's Kirby Smart was one of the most vocal protesters, but appears to have mended fences with the Michigan man, as the two schools co-host a camp in Atlanta on June 2.

There's an interesting note to the number of camps on the schedule. With 26 planned, Harbaugh could sign one player from each camp, and still be one over the annual allotment of 25 scholarships per recruiting class.
