Former Arizona State linebacker Antonio Longino is in police custody in relation to a murder investigation, days ahead of a scheduled tryout with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Longino, an undrafted free agent, has been charged with tampering with evidence in a homicide investigation, according to Homa Bash and Faith Boone of NewsNet5 in Cleveland. He's being held in jail on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court soon.

Police, meanwhile, are investigating an apparent homicide that occurred in Cleveland early Tuesday. Officers found a 24-year-old man, who was allegedly shot and later died in hospital, in a parking lot after they responded to reports of gunshots around 2:30 a.m.

A car with two bullet holes was towed from Longino's aunt's house Wednesday afternoon. Authorities obtained a search warrant, and took several bags of evidence from the home.

Longino appeared in all 13 games for the Sun Devils in his senior season, starting 12. He recorded 64 total tackles and 11 sacks, and his 22.5 tackles for loss led the Pac-12.
