Ohio State quarterback Stephen Collier underwent surgery to repair his torn ACL on Wednesday and will miss the 2016 season, Bill Landis of Cleveland.com reports.

Collier's knee injury reportedly occurred during Ohio State's spring game.

The signal-caller confirmed the news on Twitter:

"Bummed I won't be out there with my brothers but I know they're going to hold it down this year," Collier said. "Love those guys more than anything."

The redshirt sophomore quarterback was competing for the backup spot this spring alongside redshirt freshman Joe Burrow.
