New Cowboys teammate Elliott was only Buckeye to check on Smith after injury

It was a scary scene at the 2016 Fiesta Bowl game between Notre Dame and Ohio State when projected top-10 pick Jaylon Smith went down with a knee injury that would later knock him out of the NFL draft's first round.

Smith was surprisingly selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round, joining first-round running back Ezekiel Elliott, who was the first and only Buckeye player to check on Smith following his injury, as seen in a video above.

Both players were arguably the best on their respective teams in the game.

Smith isn't expected to play in the 2016 due to the injury, but he optimistically believes there is "absolutely" a chance he gets on the field next season.
