Paul Chryst hasn't decided on Wisconsin's starting quarterback

Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst hasn't settled on whether it'll be Alex Hornibrook or Bart Houston taking snaps this season for the Badgers.

''I told them the other day we're not where we want to be, but I don't think they're behind schedule,'' Chryst said.

Houston is more experienced, but Hornibrook had the better outing Saturday during Wisconsin's spring game, going 4-of-8 for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

Hornibrook, who redshirted last year, enjoyed the experience.

''It was fun," he said. "We were doing the same thing that we did all spring and practice, but it was fun being in front of the fans."

Chryst was cautious, though, discounting the exhibition match.

"Hornibrook hasn't played a game yet. This wasn't a game," he said.

Houston, a fifth-year senior, went 7-of-14 for 73 yards on the day.

''It's going to be a competition from the spring, in the summer, in the fall. You want to be better each and every day,'' Houston said.

Wisconsin opens the season versus LSU at Lambeau Field on Sept. 3.
