Mississippi State's Mullen to run Boston Marathon for charity

Matt Bush / USA TODAY Sports

Mississippi State might have an extra participant in conditioning drills this spring because head coach Dan Mullen is getting ready for the biggest race of his life.

The Bulldogs boss will run in the Boston Marathon for the first time on April 18 and is raising money for the Mullen Family Foundation, which supports youth in Mississippi.

The 43-year-old has been preparing for the event for a year, and has already raised over $14,000 in pledges. He's hoping to hit the $36,000 mark by the time he straps on his runner's bib.
