UEFA to open investigation into Pellegrini's comments following Barcelona match

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini had some very choice words for referee Jonas Eriksson following the 2-0 Champions League defeat on Tuesday (see below), and now it seems he will pay for his outburst.

Pellegrini was upset with the decision to send off Martin Demichelis for a second-half foul on Lionel Messi, which resulted in a penalty for the visitors and also allowed them to dominate the remainder of the match with a man advantage.

While the Spanish manager may have had a point about the foul occurring outside the area, maybe insinuating that the match official had a preconceived desire to favor Barcelona was not the smartest thing to do.
