Stoops: Adrian Peterson was a 'beautiful kid to work with'

Sept 15, 2:19 PM

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said on a conference call Monday that Adrian Peterson was a "beautiful kid to work with every day we had him here."

Peterson landed in hot water this week after he was indicted for reckless or negligent injury to a child, originally reported by Mark Berman of FOX26.

In the same conference call, Stoops said of Peterson that he was a "model of what you want" in a player.

The coach was asked what he thought about Peterson's charges, but declined to answer. “I don’t understand the situation or have time to pay close enough attention to have time to make an appropriate comment.”

The No. 4 Sooners (3-0) head to Morgantown, Va. on Saturday to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers (2-1). The Mountaineers have won two straight games after dropping their opening contest to No. 3 Alabama.
