Division III quarterback Durley throws for record 736 yards

Sam Durley, a quarterback with NCAA Division III team Eureka College, set an NCAA record for passing yards on Saturday with a 736 yard performance against Knox College.

Durley completed 34 of 52 passes for the Red Devils, totalling five touchdowns and 736 yards through the air. He broke the record on the game winning touchdown pass with 20 seconds left on the clock. Eureka beat Knox by a 62-55 score.

The previous record, 731 yards, was held by Zamir Amin of Menlo College, another Division III squad, set in 2000 against Cal-Lutheran.

Durley's record day was the bulk of the Eureka offence which posted 821total yards.
