- WIMBLEDON, England - Four-time champion Serena Williams beats Victoria Azarenka to reach the Wimbledon final. She next plays Agnieszka Radwanska, who defeated Angelique Kerber in the other semifinal.
- ROUEN, France - Lance Armstrong accuses the U.S Anti-Doping Agency of a ``vendetta'' following reports five ex-teammates drew reduced suspensions after admitting to doping in return for testifying against him.
- NEW ORLEANS - NFL players' union sues the league on behalf of three players suspended in connection with the bounty investigation. The union calls Commissioner Roger Goodell ``incurably and evidently biased.''
- KOHLER, Wis. - Yani Tseng , trying to become the youngest golfer to complete a career Grand Slam, begins play on a U.S. Women's Open course that should provide a tough test for the game's elite.
- WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. - Tiger Woods highlights play in the Greenbrier Classic. He is bidding for his fourth win of the season in his final tuneup for the British Open.
- NEW YORK - Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, who leads the majors with 12 victories, starts for the Mets against Cole Hamels and a last-place Phillies team that has lost seven of 10. Game starts 7:10 p.m.
- CHICAGO - The White Sox go for a three-game sweep of the team with the majors' best record, the Texas Rangers. It's expected to be about 100 degrees when the division leaders begin play. Game starts 2:10 p.m.
- PHOENIX - Steve Nash wanted to go to the Lakers. He just needed an assist. The two-time MVP says the Suns were reluctant to complete a sign-and-trade deal but finally relented.
- LONDON - Usain Bolt withdraws from his final race before Olympics with what his coach calls a ``slight'' injury problem following the Jamaican trials.
- SAINT-QUENTIN, France - Andre Greipel of Germany wins the fifth stage of the Tour de France - his second straight - while Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland keeps the yellow jersey for a sixth straight day.
- TORONTO - A year ago, IndyCar's Ryan Hunter-Reay left Toronto hoping a third-place finish would kick-start a disappointing season. Now he's coming off back-to-back wins entering Sunday's race.
