Coastal Carolina has done it.

Alex Cunningham struck out Ryan Haug with runners on second and third in the ninth inning Thursday, handing the Chanticleers their first College World Series championship after taking down Arizona 4-3 in the finale.

Game 3 of the CWS was supposed to be played Wednesday, but due to inclement weather, it was pushed to Thursday afternoon.

After starting pitchers Andrew Beckwith and Bobby Dalbec kept the game scoreless for five innings, surrendering a combined seven hits, things unraveled for the Wildcats in the sixth inning.

With runners on second and third with two out, Zach Remillard hit a routine grounder to second base that should've ended the inning. Instead, not only did second baseman Cody Ramer fumble the ball, allowing a run to score, his throw sailed over the third baseman's head, allowing a second run to score.

G.K. Young was the next hitter, who'd already recorded a double. He jumped on a first-pitch curveball and drilled it over the right-field fence for a two-run homer.

Beckwith was named the 2016 College World Series Most Outstanding Player after going 3-0 in the tournament.

The Wildcats managed to get two runs in the bottom half of the inning thanks to a Jared Oliva bases-loaded single, but the ninth-inning mini-rally was stopped short.
