TCU alum Arrieta to get Coastal Carolina tattoo
Chicago Cubs ace Jake Arrieta will get some new ink when his team returns to the Windy City after their current road trip, although the tattoo isn't one the NL Cy Young winner actually wants attached to his body.
Arrieta will get a Coastal Carolina Chanticleers tattoo after losing a College World Series bet to teammate Tommy La Stella.
La Stella, a Coastal Carolina alumnus, placed a bet with the former TCU attendee Arrieta over who would win the series, with the loser being rewarded with a tattoo of the opposing team's school.
Coastal Carolina eliminated TCU from the tournament Saturday, beating the Horned Frogs on back-to-back days.
"So happy for those kids," La Stella told ESPN's Jesse Rogers on Sunday. "When we get back to Chicago we'll get him (Arrieta) tatted up for life."
Coastal Carolina will take on the University of Arizona in the CWS final beginning Monday at 7:00 p.m. ET in Omaha, Neb.
