Coastal Carolina starter Andrew Beckwith went the distance as the Chanticleers handed TCU its first loss of the College World Series with a 4-1 win on Friday night.

The Chanticleers' victory comes three days after the Horned Frogs took it to them 6-1 in the second round of the tournament.

Beckwith was the star, throwing 137 pitches in the complete game effort, limiting the TCU bats to six hits and one walk while giving up one run. He became the fourth pitcher in the past 25 years to throw two complete games in a College World Series, according to ESPN.

At the plate, nine-hitter David Parrett had the big knock, an RBI double, while Michael Paez, Anthony Marks, and Tyler Chadwick added hits of their own.

For TCU, starter Mitchell Traver only gave up three hits, but they were timely hits as he gave up four runs, three earned, while surrendering two walks over 6 1/3 innings of work.

Offensively, TCU notched five hits, but couldn't cash in when it mattered, as Dane Steinhagen was the offense with a solo homer in the eighth inning.

This sets the stage for Saturday, where the winner will go on to face either Arizona or Oklahoma State in the College World Series best of three final from June 27-29.
