Arizona's Allonzo Trier won't declare for NBA draft

Allonzo Trier isn't going anywhere, for now.

Arizona's freshman phenom won't declare for the 2016 NBA Draft, and will stay with the Wildcats for at least another season, he announced Monday.

"After talking to Coach (Sean) Miller and my family, I have decided to return to school for my sophomore season," Trier said in a statement. "I am really excited about the quest to become a more complete player. I am also excited to develop as a leader and to lock arms with my teammates while competing for championships. I love being at the University of Arizona and can't wait for next season to begin."

Trier staying put is huge news for Sean Miller and the Wildcats, as the rookie guard was third on the team in scoring behind seniors Ryan Anderson and Gabe York.

The Seattle native joined Arizona as a five-star recruit in the class of 2015, and exceeded expectations in his initial campaign, averaging 14.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 28 minutes per game.

With several key seniors departing, Trier's role on both ends of the court is sure to increase in his sophomore season.

Arizona has the potential to score at will next season, with Trier returning and five-star recruits Rawle Alkins and Kobi Simmons on the way, the Wildcats should be exciting to say the least.
