Washington Capitals leave message for Georgetown before Seton Hall game

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

It might be 226 miles from Washington, D.C., to New Jersey, but the Washington Capitals did their best to make Georgetown feel at home during its game against Seton Hall this weekend.

The two teams from the nation's capital both played in Newark on Saturday, with the Capitals facing the New Jersey Devils in a matinee affair before the Hoyas tipped off against the Pirates in the evening. Prior to the hockey club clearing out for the day, they left a good luck message in Georgetown's locker room.

Unfortunately, after the Capitals downed the Devils 3-2 in a shootout, Georgetown was unable to complete the Washington sweep, losing to Seton Hall 69-61.
