Boston College reeling after Chipotle E. coli outbreak infects players

Greg M. Cooper / USA TODAY Sports

Boston College was upset Sunday by UMass-Lowell - in more ways than one.

According to Eric Hoffses of BC Interruption, eight Boston College players are confirmed to be suffering from Escherichia coli (E. coli), thanks to an outbreak of the disease at a local Chipotle restaurant.

Five Golden Eagles were unable to play in Sunday's 68-66 loss, and all eight players affected by the bacteria are considered question marks to play against Providence on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the school's medical staff sent an email Monday to all students and faculty of the school to warn against eating at the ever-popular Mexican grill.
