UMKC has placed assistant coach Andre McGee on paid administrative leave following accusations that he paid escorts to be involved with his players during his time at Louisville.

McGee joined UMKC's staff in 2014. The school issued the following statement Friday:

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is aware of today's reports alleging wrongdoing by a current UMKC employee while he worked at another institution. UMKC is taking the allegations seriously and we have already initiated our own review of the matter. While we are conducting that review, Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Andre McGee will be on administrative leave with pay, effective immediately.

Louisville woman Katina Powell says an upcoming book will reveal that Louisville recruits and players engaged in sexual activity with escorts that McGee paid for over a period of four years.

Louisville issued a statement of its own Friday, saying that as soon as it found out about the issue, the school immediately turned the matter over to the NCAA.
