Buffalo's Justin Moss dismissed from program

Buffalo forward Justin Moss has been dismissed from the program, according to a brief statement released by the team Monday.

"Justin Moss is not currently enrolled in classes at the University at Buffalo, nor is he participating in university activities. Because of federal privacy laws protecting student records, the university cannot comment further on this matter."

No reason was given for the dismissal, but Moss and two teammates were accused of stealing money from a dorm room June 2. Moss was already on probation prior to the incident for another theft on campus, according to Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News.

The two other players accused in this most recent incident, Mory Diane and Raheem Johnson, remain on the team, according to the statement. All three players returned the money and the victims agreed not to press charges, but the case was passed on to a group that deals with student misconduct.

"Mory Diane and Raheem Johnson are enrolled in classes at the University at Buffalo and are members of the men's basketball team. Because of federal privacy laws protecting student records, the university cannot comment further on this matter."

It's a blow for a Bulls team that turned a major corner last season. Moss led the squad to its first ever trip to the NCAA tournament and was named MAC Player of the Year in the process.

The senior first turned heads last season when he emphatically dunked on then Kentucky center Willie Cauley-Stein.

Moss averaged 17.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game during the 2014-15 campaign.
