N.C. State's Terry Henderson willing to accept any role: 'I'm here to win'

Recent N.C. State transfer Terry Henderson says he's ready to help his new team in any way he can, whether it be putting up points or locking down opposing guards.

"Anything I can do to help this team, then that's what I'm going to do,'' the guard said, according to Aaron Beard of The Associated Press. ''If it has to be scoring, I'm going to score. If it has to be playing defense on somebody else, I'm going to do it. I'm just here to win and give the fans something to cheer about."

The 6-foot-4 Henderson transferred from West Virginia after the 2013-14 campaign, sitting out last season, per NCAA transfer rules.

He averaged 11.7 points in his last season with West Virginia, and shot 39 percent from 3-point range over the course of his two-year tenure with the Mountaineers.

He is expected to provide the Wildcats with some desperately needed perimeter scoring, partly to compensate for the departures of transfer standouts Ralston Turner and Trevor Lacey.

Henderson, though, doesn't appear to be fond of the comparisons.

"I'm not Ralston Turner or Trevor Lacey,'' he said of the former N.C. State players. ''I'm Terry Henderson. I'm a player. I'm here to win. I wouldn't have come to this school if I didn't think we had a good chance of winning."
