Report: Providence transfer Chukwu picks Syracuse

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

Former Providence center Paschal Chukwu has reportedly found a new home in Syracuse, according to a report by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Chukwu announced last month that he intended to transfer after one season with the Friars where he put up 2.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in just under 10 minutes per contest as a freshman. Chukwu was a four-star member of Providence's 2014 recruiting class and was the 61st ranked prospect in the nation, according to Rivals.com.

While he didn't get an abundance of opportunities with the Friars this past season, Chukwu is still raw with plenty of upside and could prove to be a force for the Orange in the future.

Due to NCAA transfer rules, Chukwu will be forced to sit out next season and will join Syracuse for the 2017-18 season with three years of eligibility remaining.
