Clemson University is mourning the death of former basketball coach Bill Foster.

Foster, who had been dealing with Parkinson's disease for many years, died Wednesday at the age of 79.

Although he coached at five different colleges throughout a career that spanned 21 seasons, he was most known for his time with the Tigers, whom he led to their only Elite Eight appearance in 1980.

Foster's overall coaching record was 532-325. In addition to Clemson, he coached at Charlotte, The Citadel, Miami, and Virginia Tech.

He is the only person to have coached three different programs that currently help comprise the ACC.
