Michigan State's Branden Dawson to miss at least 2 games with fractured wrist

Michigan State is hopeful that it will have to be without its top rebounder for only a short time.

Forward Branden Dawson is expected to miss at least two games due to a stable, non-displaced fracture to his left wrist suffered during Wednesday's 66-46 win over Eastern Michigan, according to Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo Sports.

The senior hurt this wrist on a dunk attempt in the second half, following the miss, he fell to the court and landed on his wrist in an attempt to brace for the impact.

Following the contest, it was expected that the injury was nothing more than a sprain, but Thursday's news was more than the Spartans were prepared for.

"I feel bad for Branden, as he's been practicing so well over the last few weeks. But we also feel a bit fortunate when you look at the video from the game; it certainly could have been worse," head coach Tom Izzo said.

Dawson finished the game with four points and seven rebounds.

He is averaging 10.8 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game.
