The undefeated Maryland Terrapins will have to survive without their leading scorer for a while.
The team announced Friday that Dez Wells will miss the next four weeks following surgery to repair a right wrist fracture.
"Dez has been playing at a very high level and we will certainly miss our team leader," head coach Mark Turgeon said in a press release. "I am extremely disappointed for Dez because I know how hard he has worked in the offseason to prepare for his senior season."
Wells has averaged 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals for the 5-0 Terrapins.
