Oklahoma State lands 5-star point guard Jawun Evans

Oklahoma State has landed one of the best point guards in the 2015 recruiting class.

Five-star guard Jawun Evans, from Texas' Dallas Kimball High School, chose the Cowboys over offers from USC and Illinois.

Evans is the third-ranked point guard and 21st-ranked player overall in the class of 2015, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

"Oklahoma State was the right fit for me," Evans said, via ESPN. "Coach (Travis) Ford was a point guard, and I feel I can learn under him. I really liked their drills. They are intense, and they will get me better.

"The style of play at Oklahoma State fits more with the way I already play with my travel team ... and that will make the adjustment easier. I like to push the pace, and I am great on defense. I will pick up my teammates when they are down. Be a leader."

Evans has represented South Carolina Raptors Elite and Team Texas Elite on the AAU circuit.
