Texas lands 4-star recruit Eric Davis

Texas Longhorns head coach Rick Barnes has landed his first commitment for the Class of 2015.

Four-star shooting guard Eric Davis will be on his way to Austin next season, after announcing on Tuesday that he's chosen Texas over other interested schools like Kentucky, UNLV and Michigan State.

Davis is ranked as the No. 41 prospect in the class by the 247 Sports composite and by ESPN, a rare exact agreement in rank. A 6-foot-3 scorer, he should slot in immediately as Texas's next shooting guard, and there's reason to believe he'll have the ball in his hands plenty.

The Longhorns will have to hope Davis is a success, as they currently have no remaining scholarships to give out for the 2015 season, though those numbers are always fluid.
