Charleston, ex-coach Wojcik reach $400,000 settlement

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The College of Charleston has paid $400,000 to former coach Doug Wojcik as part of the settlement reached last week.

The school released financial terms of the settlement to The Associated Press after an open records request. Wojcik was fired last month amid allegations of verbal abuse. The school hired longtime Wichita State and Clemson assistant Earl Grant two weeks ago.

As part of settlement, Wojcik agreed not to sue the College of Charleston.

Wojcik had spent two years with the Cougars. He had three years remaining on a deal that paid him $400,000 a year.

Wojcik's attorney, Eric Bland, said it was good for all involved that a settlement was reached and that everyone should move on.
