The Memphis Tigers will have top recruit Dedric Lawson in the fold a year earlier than anticipated.

Lawson, who committed to Memphis back in mid-July, was originally considered a borderline top-10 recruit in the Class of 2016. According to a report from The Commercial Appeal, Lawson has now reclassified for the Class of 2015, allowing him to join Memphis, his father and assistant coach Keelon Lawson, and brother and fellow Class of 2015 recruit K.J. Lawson a year early.

Dedric Lawson was ranked No. 11 in the 247 Sports composite before the reclassification, ranking third at the power forward position. ESPN was slightly less optimistic, ranking him 14th but grading him as a five-star recruit.

K.J. Lawson is considered a four-star recruit and ranks among the top-50 for the Class of 2015. Their younger brother Chandler Lawson is expected to be a top recruit in the Class of 2019, and one would think an enjoyable term for his older brothers could lead him to lean toward Memphis as well.
