Coming off the program's first Final Four appearance, South Carolina has rewarded head coach Frank Martin with a contract extension, the school announced Friday.

“Since Frank has been at South Carolina, he has continued building a program that has seen increased success each season,” athletic director Ray Tanner said in the announcement. “I believe his team’s Final Four run is representative of the foundation that he has used to build our program. Frank’s caring for his student-athletes is something that I think will help sustain his successes here for a long time.”

Martin, whose contract will run through the 2022-23 season, has been at South Carolina since 2012 after a five-year tenure at Kansas State.

In five seasons, Martin has a 96-74 record, qualifying for one NCAA tournament (2017) and one NIT tournament (2015).

South Carolina also extended women's head coach Dawn Staley's contract by four years, running through the 2024-24 season.

Staley led the Gamecocks to the program's first national championship last season.
