Jeffrey Carroll withdraws from draft, returns to Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State got some great news Thursday, as star guard Jeffrey Carroll told ESPN's Jeff Goodman that he's withdrawing from the NBA draft and will return to school for his senior season.

Carroll averaged a whopping 17.5 points per game last season, finishing second on the Cowboys in scoring behind Jawun Evans. That number represented a huge increase from the 8.2 points per contest the 6-foot-6 Texan scored in his sophomore season.

His decision to return to school is certainly a boost for new Cowboys coach Mike Boynton, who took over after Brad Underwood departed for Illinois following his first season with Oklahoma State.

Carroll will certainly be the focal point of the offense, as the team lost Evans to the draft and prolific shooter Phil Forte III to graduation.
