Texas confirms Jarrett Allen will sign with agent, remain in NBA draft

The college career of Texas forward Jarrett Allen is officially over.

The school announced Tuesday that Allen has decided to sign with an agent, therefore voiding his remaining NCAA eligibility. Allen originally decided to enter the draft without an agent, but has evidently encountered a change of heart.

"I would like to thank coach Smart for preparing me for this opportunity, not only in basketball, but also in helping me understand the level of commitment it takes to be successful,"Allen said. "To the University of Texas, it has been an honor to be a student-athlete at this outstanding university."

Allen spent just one season at Texas and he did not disappoint, averaging 13.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 32.1 minutes.
