Day 7 Ball Bets: Gonzaga rolls to Final 4 for 1st time in program history

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Thus far, 56 games have been played in the NCAA tournament, with seven more to go as the Elite Eight tips off on Saturday night.

With only two games on the board for the next two rounds, there isn't much to choose from for the best bets, so here's a pick against the spread for each contest on Saturday

Best bets

(11) Xavier vs. (1) Gonzaga -8

Gonzaga survived a nail-biter against West Virginia, while Xavier roared back to knock off Arizona Thursday thanks to a 9-0 run to end the game. The Bulldogs hold a distinct size advantage against Xavier, but the Musketeers showed that wasn't a problem against a giant Florida State team last weekend, thanks to an incredible shooting performance. It's doubtful Xavier has another one of those games against a solid Gonzaga defense, and the Bulldogs will make the first Final Four in school history with a comfortable win. Gonzaga 83, Xavier 70

(3) Oregon +7 vs. (1) Kansas

Kansas looked like the greatest basketball team of all-time in the second half on Thursday, absolutely running Purdue out of the gym, but Oregon matches up much better with the Jayhawks. Bill Self has been to six Elite Eights with the program, but is just 1-5 against the spread in those contests. The Ducks have a number of perimeter options that should be able to keep up with Kansas' firepower, and Jordan Bell should wreak havoc on the offensive glass. The Jayhawks are playing in front of a home crowd in Kansas City and will get the win, but Oregon keeps this one real close. Kansas 81, Oregon 78
