Joel Berry still thinks ACC is the best conference

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Only one team remains from the nine the ACC put into the NCAA tournament, but North Carolina guard Joel Berry II doesn't think that is a reflection of how good the conference is.

"That's why they call it March Madness," Berry told Myron Medcalf of ESPN. "Anything can happen. Just some teams didn't have their best game. ... I still think we have the best teams in the nation. It just didn't go their way."

It certainly didn't. Louisville's and Duke's second-round losses were among the more surprising defeats for a conference that sent the most teams to the dance.

Berry's Tar Heels are now carrying the torch for the entire ACC as the last team standing. They meet Butler on Friday.
