Texas' Jarrett Allen: Declares for draft, will not hire agent

Allen declared for the 2017 NBA Draft on Tuesday, but the freshman will not hire an agent, Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports reports.

Analysis:

Allen's decision to not hire an agent means that he will be able to go through the NBA Combine this spring before making a decision on his draft status in May. Allen (6-11, 235) had an impressive freshman campaign for the Longhorns, averaging 13.4 points on 56.6 percent shooting while also pulling down 8.4 rebounds per game. He's a long and talented big that has the tools to be an intriguing draft prospect, but his performance through the pre-draft process will go a long way in helping him make his final decision on whether to go pro or return to Texas for another year.
