Arizona's Alkins expects to play in Sweet 16 despite dislocated finger

Arizona guard Rawle Alkins suffered a dislocated index finger during Saturday's win over Saint Mary's, but that didn't stop him from playing against the Gaels and it won't keep him from playing in the Sweet 16, at least if it's up to him.

"I'm going to do whatever it takes to get back on the court," Alkins said after the game, according to ESPN's Chantel Jennings.

Alkins was injured while battling for a rebound during the first half. He returned to the game with his finger taped and finished with six points, two rebounds, and two steals in the 69-60 comeback win.

"Even with that, I still wanted to play for my team," Alkins said. "Being that it could potentially be the last game of the year, I didn't want to go out like this."

The freshman will have until Thursday to heal up before the Wildcats are back in action against Xavier. Alkins' presence in the lineup will be key after averaging 11.3 points and 5.1 rebounds while starting 35 games this season.
