Texas ended the regular season Saturday with a 76-64 loss to Baylor, clinching last place in the Big 12, but at least one Longhorn believes his team can go all the way in the conference tournament.
"We can be that miracle team and win some games," freshman Jarrett Allen told reporters postgame, according to Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman.
The Longhorns sport a 10-21 overall record heading into the Big 12 tourney, including an ugly 4-14 mark in the conference. They've also dropped seven straight contests, as Allen's 20 points weren't enough to get by the Bears at home.
The 6-foot-11 freshman, who leads Texas in scoring with 13.4 points per game, is expected to declare for the 2017 NBA Draft at the end of the season, where he's a projected first-round pick.
Texas will open the Big 12 tournament against Texas Tech on Thursday.
