Another game, another narrow loss for Clemson.

The Tigers fell Saturday to Florida State, 76-74, giving them their 14th loss of the season. Barring a miraculous ACC tournament win, Clemson will be on the outside looking in for March Madness.

They'll have their recent record in close games to blame for missing out, as in addition to the narrow defeat at the hands of the Seminoles, dropping tight contests has been a pattern for the Tigers.

Clemson lost by one this week to Virginia Tech and by a combined three points to Duke and Syracuse earlier in the month. They also lost to the Hokies by one point in January and by four points to Virginia.

Not only have the losses been agonizing for Brad Brownell and company, but had they pulled out a victory or two against a Florida State, Duke, or Virginia, the Tigers would have boasted an impressive resume for the tournament committee to consider.

Unfortunately for Clemson, almost doesn't count.
