McKenzie Calvert was benched after reporting Josh Jackson to police

McKenzie Calvert, a star on Kansas' women's basketball team, has been benched four times and seen her minutes drastically cut since reporting Josh Jackson's vandalism of her car, Laura Bauer and Mara Rose Williams of the Kansas City Star report.

Jackson was charged with one count of criminal damage to property Friday, stemming from an incident in which the freshman allegedly kicked and damaged Calvert's vehicle.

Jackson allegedly vandalized the car after the two engaged in an argument, which stemmed from Calvert throwing a drink at Jackson's teammate, Lagerald Vick, at a bar.

Calvert and Vick were previously involved in a domestic incident, where Vick was alleged to have hit her.

Calvert was averaging 28.1 minutes per game before she reported Jackson to the police, but is averaging 15.6 since. She has been benched completely for four games, including the first one that took place after her report.

A Kansas official didn't respond to the Kansas City Star's inquiry about Calvert's playing time, and whether her decrease in minutes has been discipline-related.

On the men's side, Jackson has played in every game this year, and coach Bill Self said Friday that his discipline has been handled internally. The star freshman is averaging 30.3 minutes and 16.5 points per game.
