Watch: Wednesday's action produced a highlight factory

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Wednesday was a loaded slate on the college basketball calendar, and the action certainly did not disappoint.

A thrilling night saw some incredible highlights from across the country, and here are the best of the bunch.

Gillon ends Duke with banked buzzer-beater

John Gillon may not be the hero Syracuse deserves, but he was the one it needed on Wednesday night. Luckily for the Orange, the senior guard was more than willing to fill that role, banking home a deep buzzer-beater to give Syracuse the win, and break Duke's hearts in the process. Gillon was a monster all night for the home team, dropping 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting to help snap the Orange's three-game losing streak.

Oregon's Brooks adds to his finisher reputation

Oregon's end of game offense has essentially become Dana Altman summoning his best "Mortal Kombat" voice and telling Dillon Brooks to "finish them." The Ducks closer, who already ended UCLA this season with an epic buzzer-beating three-pointer, was at it again Wednesday with Cal playing the victim. Oregon clawed back from a 16-point second-half disadvantage to pull off the shocking road win on Brooks' heroics.

Adel takes flight at Jordan's alma mater

Michael Jordan didn't create the foul-line dunk, but the NBA legend certainly popularized it. Louisville's Deng Adel provided his best tribute to Jordan on Wednesday in a loss at the former North Carolina star's alma mater. Adel took control of the ball inside his own end, dribbled the length of the court and shockingly launched from just inside the Tar Heels foul line. The lanky forward would finish with authority, giving the Cardinals a highlight in an otherwise difficult night.

Gillon busts Tatum's ankles on deep triple

Gillon's buzzer-beater was certainly the main event from Wednesday's contest, but his ankle-breaking move on Jayson Tatum definitely warmed the crowd up. The graduate transfer dropped Duke's fabulous freshman with a filthy crossover before stepping back and drilling a deep triple.

Wake Forest goes Globetrotter-style on fast break

Wake Forest erased a 19-point deficit for a massive comeback win over Pitt on Wednesday, a feat that will bury this ridiculous fast break from early in the contest. Bryant Crawford led the break and dipped into his bag of tricks for an incredible between-the-legs dish to a trailing John Collins for a rim-rocking slam.
