Michigan State's Alvin Ellis: Could enter starting lineup

Ellis has a chance to start for the Spartans on Thursday against Nebraska, MLive.com reports.

Analysis:

Ellis could potentially take advantage of an unfortunate situation, as a vacancy in the starting lineup just opened up after senior Eron Harris suffered a season-ending knee injury. Although Ellis has certainly picked up his game of late, averaging 10.2 PPG and 4.8 RPG over his last five, coach Tom Izzo has yet to offer up a concrete decision on his lineup. If Izzo changes his mind and goes in another direction, it would be either Cassius Winston or Matt McQuaid getting the starting nod. However it shakes out, all three of those players are in line to see a slight boost in minutes.
