Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports

Xeyrius Williams hit not one, but two 3-balls in the last 20 seconds of Friday's game versus Rhode Island, helping Dayton steal a huge 75-74 road victory from the Rams.

Williams hit what turned out to be the game-winner seconds after his first 3-pointer brought the Flyers to within a single point of their opponents.

The sophomore came into the night averaging 7.6 points per game, but nearly equaled that total in the final 20 seconds of the game.

The win gives Dayton sole possession of first place in the Atlantic 10 standings, with VCU sitting 0.5 games back. Rhode Island is now two games out of top spot.

Dayton's Josh Cunningham played two scoreless minutes in the win, his first action since injuring his ankle in mid-November.

The Flyers own a 19-5 overall record for the season. Rhode Island is 16-8.
