Sunday was a very special day for Alec Peters.

The senior forward made Valparaiso history during the first half of the Crusaders' game against UIC, as he became the all-time leading scorer in program history, according to Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports.

Peters surpassed former Crusaders head coach, and current Vanderbilt head coach Bryce Drew for the honor of being the programs's leading scorer. Drew played for the Crusaders from 1994-98 before being selected with the 16th overall pick by the Houston Rockets in the 1998 NBA Draft.

So far in his senior season, Peters has enjoyed one of his strongest campaigns to date, averaging 23.9 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 36.4 minutes heading into Sunday's contest.

The Crusaders led the Flames by a score of 50-26 at the half, with Peters registering 13 points and four rebounds complimented by a steal and a block.
