Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

After taking a leave of absence from the team on Jan. 5, Austin Peay head coach Dave Loos is returning to the sidelines for the Governors.

The Austin Peay athletic department announced Loos' return Tuesday, with his first game back expected to come Thursday against Morehead State. Loos took leave from the team while undergoing chemotherapy for a cancerous lymph node.

Loos also previously underwent surgery in July to remove a malignant tumor from his colon.
