Texas lands 4-star guard Matt Coleman

Danny La-USA TODAY Sports

Four-star point guard Matt Coleman has committed to Texas, he announced Monday on ESPN.

Coleman, ranked 26th overall on the ESPN 100, chose to play for the Longhorns over Duke. He hails from Norfolk, Va., and currently attends the famous Oak Hill Academy high school.

The 6-foot-1, 174-pounder joins a 2017 Texas recruiting class that already includes three other four-star prospects, including two on the ESPN 100.

Coleman may quickly become a major asset for Texas, a team that has struggled to find a ball-distributor this season and is averaging just 11 assists per game.
