Florida State's Rathan-Mayes: Victory over Duke was 'personal'

Glenn Beil / USA TODAY Sports

Xavier Rathan-Mayes didn't forget what Grayson Allen did to him last year.

The Florida State guard couldn't wait to play Duke on Tuesday after being tripped by Allen a season ago.

"This one was personal for me. Ever since he did that, I've been waiting a long time to see him again," Rathan-Mayes said afterward, according to Jenna Laine of ESPN. "It was good to finally see him again. He's a great player, but some of the things that he's done - it is what it is."

The Seminoles thoroughly trounced the Blue Devils thanks to 21 points from Rathan-Mayes, who got his revenge on the scoreboard.

Allen was suspended one game by Duke in December after his third tripping incident over the past two campaigns, and some say he pushed a Florida State assistant Tuesday while chasing down a loose ball.

The Blue Devils host the Seminoles on Feb. 28. Get your popcorn ready.
