Duke's Jayson Tatum out 2 weeks with foot sprain

Duke forward Jayson Tatum will miss about two weeks with a sprained left foot, head coach Mike Krzyzewski announced Wednesday.

The prized freshman went down with the injury during Tuesday's pro day in front of NBA scouts, and needed to be helped off the court.

"This is the best possible news," Krzyzewski said in a news release. "It is a manageable injury that will not impact Jayson long term. We look forward to having him back very soon."

Tatum arrived at Duke as one of the top recruits in the 2016 class, and is a major reason why the Blue Devils enter the season as favorites to win the NCAA championship.

The Blue Devils are already without fellow top prospect Harry Giles, who's expected to miss the beginning of the season following knee surgery.

Duke opens its season Nov. 11 against Marist.
