Michigan State's Ben Carter: Out for extended period of time with knee injury

Carter suffered a knee injury over the weekend, and is expected to be out for an extended period of time, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Analysis:

Carter was already recovering from a torn ACL, but was expected to return for Michigan State at the beginning of the 2016-17 season. The graduate transfer from UNLV averaged 8.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, and was expected to compete for a major role with the Spartans. He currently has no timetable for return.
