Christian Laettner allegedly owes $14M to creditors

Christian Laettner was was one of the all-time great college basketball players, and also one of the most hated players on the court while with Duke.

Soon, Laettner could find himself in another type of court, according to Jerry Tipton of Kentucky.com. It's alleged that Laettner owes creditors $14 million in unpaid debts, and has 21 days to respond to the allegation.

It's uncertain from the court documents why the former Duke forward owes the amount, but the creditors and amounts are as follows:

  • NSA-SP#3, LLC (National Servicing & Administration), $7,321,230
  • Ernest Sims, III, $1,482,730
  • Jonathan Stewart, $3,629,230
  • Park Lane IBS, LLC, $236,193
  • D&F DCU, LLC, $1,382,545

Laettner won back-to-back national titles with the Blue Devils in 1991 and 1992, as well as Olympic gold with the 1992 "Dream Team."
